Welcome to the Deise Astronomy Society (DAS)
DAS Meetings are generally held once per month Month alternating between Dungarvan and Waterford City. In addition to this, the Society also offers a "Text Message Update" service to keep members informed. To find out the time and place of the next meeting, or to subscribe to the "Text Message Service" visit the "DAS Meetings" section of our "Message Board". The "Resources" section now contains some useful information about starting the hobby, astronomy in general, the solar system, space exploration etc., outlining information on various celestial and space flight events. It also includes the IFAS Observing Challenges. The new interactive "Sky Chart" is a real time tool for planning your nights observing, check it out using the hyperlink above. In addition to this, if you want to check out the night sky for a certain time you will be able to input the relevant data for that time or any time either hours or days in advance. We will be posting our upcoming events, lectures and observing sessions, including reports of how we got on, via the "Message Board" . |

| It also gives people a chance to contribute to the site and if you have any questions on astronomy /space related topics feel free to join our "Message Board" (It's FREE!!), post your queries ......and hopefully we will be able to answer them for you. We would also appreciate suggestions as to what people would like to see on the site, and we welcome your feedback. Of particular interest, we welcome your images for our "Gallery" section (the more the merrier!!!! :), and remember that you don't need to be an expert in astronomy to join our society as none of us are. We just have an interest in the subject and learn from each other. So become a part of a Society that strives to make the Astronomical process an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Together, young and old, can share and appreciate the wonderment of the solar system, galaxy and beyond!!!!!. |
